First and foremost, I am a mum to my two sons, Murphy & Frankie.

I have been a Registered Nurse since 2017 following studying Nursing & Midwifery at uni for 4 years. Since then I have worked in a variety of environments including GP clinics, a Private Mental Health Hospital, Forensic/Custodial, and public mental health (Case Managment & Crisis Teams). I also have my Masters in Mental Health Nursing which I completed in 2022.

I have trained with Caroline Burrows, completing Part 1 & 2 of EMDR training.

I currently work part-time in a community area mental health team.

Having studied midwifery at university, I developed a passion for evidenced based maternity care and maternity care advocacy. This led me to choosing private midwifery for my two births, and subsequently I started Homebirth Victoria and Birthing at Home: A Podcast. I have also worked privately as a homebirth doula.

I love trying new things and have a love for learning.

I live in Naarm/Melbourne, on unceded Wurundjeri land, however I grew up in regional and remote NSW, and went to University on the Sunshine Coast on Gubi Gubi land.

Other facts about me:

I have my scuba diving certificate, my Cert IV in Fitness (Personal Training) and am a former Recreational Pilot. Prior to kids, I travelled with with my Dutch (now Aussie) husband.

Frequently Asked Questions About Me

  • A RPN is a specially trained Registered Nurse. I personally also have my Masters in Mental Health Nursing. This enables me to be credentialled with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.

    A RPN is able to provide wholistic mental health care which is unique to RPN's due to the overlap between their knowledge and skills of physical health (and biology), pharmacology and psychiatry (mental health).

    RPNs in community settings especially are skilled in utilise elements of therapies such as DBT, CBT, ACT & Motivational Interviewing. This is in addition to the counselling nature of many RPN roles, inclusive of crisis counselling.

  • I work from a trauma informed lens. All the work I do in the public mental health space is in the realm of trauma, PTSD or cPTSD. This is inclusive of those with a significant mood disorders and major psychotic disorders.

    My sessions are YOU-centred. Whilst I am happy to challenge you if that’s what you want, I will be guided by you. I also acknowledge that not everyday or every session is the same & that’s totally fine too. EMDR is a 8 phase process but it is tailored to your and your own goals.

  • Of course!

    My introduction to LGBTQIA+ safe care was when I worked in a Rainbow Tick Accrediated hospital. Since then, I have worked with many people who identify as LGBTQIA+

  • I have worked with many people from CALD backgrounds and many Indigenous Australians. Cultural competence is an essential part of the work I already do.

    I practice person centred care which means respecting and valuing your own individual experiences.

    I am also very passionate about providing non-judgemental & empathetic care. I also have a genuine interest in learning more about you and your cultural background.
